Commission Policy
TavernPost LLC — Commission Policy
Last updated: April 15, 2026
1. Platform Role
TavernPost LLC acts solely as a platform intermediary facilitating transactions between independent creators and buyers. TavernPost makes no representations or warranties regarding the quality, accuracy, legality, or fitness for purpose of any commissioned work. TavernPost bears no liability for the outcome of any transaction conducted through the platform.
2. Commission Flow
Commissions on TavernPost follow a structured flow: the buyer submits an offer with a proposed price and timeframe, the creator accepts or rejects the offer, and upon acceptance the buyer pays a 50% deposit to begin work. The remaining balance is due upon delivery.
3. Deposits
Deposits are non-refundable once a commission offer has been accepted by the creator. The deposit represents a good-faith commitment to the agreed work and compensates the creator for time reserved on the buyer's behalf.
4. Delivery and Payment
The remaining balance is due upon completion of the work. The final deliverable will be held on the platform and released to the buyer automatically upon receipt of final payment. If the buyer fails to complete payment, the final work will remain held on the platform indefinitely. The creator may raise a formal dispute through the platform. Failure to pay upon completion constitutes bad faith and may result in suspension of the buyer's ability to submit commission offers on the platform.
5. Payment Failures
In the event that a buyer's payment method becomes invalid during an active commission, the offer will be suspended and the creator will be notified. The buyer has 7 days to resolve their payment method before the creator may cancel the commission. In the event of cancellation due to payment failure, the deposit will not be returned.
6. Rework Requests
After delivery, the buyer may request rework if the delivered work does not match the agreed terms. Rework requests enter a negotiation phase where both parties agree on scope and any additional cost. If no agreement is reached, either party may raise a dispute.
7. Disputes
Either party may raise a formal dispute through TavernPost at any point during an active commission. The dispute process exists to protect the TavernPost community from repeated bad-faith behaviour — it is not a refund mechanism.
TavernPost staff review the evidence submitted by both parties and determine whether either party acted in bad faith. TavernPost cannot compel a creator to rework or deliver, nor can it force payment from a buyer. Outcomes of a review are limited to findings and platform-level consequences:
- A finding of bad faith against the buyer, resulting in temporary or permanent suspension of their ability to submit commission offers on the platform
- A finding of bad faith against the creator, resulting in temporary or permanent suspension of their ability to advertise or accept commissions on the platform
- A finding of no bad faith on either party, in which case the dispute is closed without action
TavernPost's dispute process is a good-faith review of user conduct for the benefit of the wider community. It does not constitute legal arbitration, and all parties retain their rights to pursue remedies outside the platform.
8. Commission Access Suspension
TavernPost reserves the right to suspend a user's ability to submit commission offers (as a buyer) or to advertise and accept commissions (as a creator) at any time, for reasons including but not limited to:
- A finding of bad faith in a dispute
- Repeated disputes filed against the user
- Failure to pay for completed work
- Failure to deliver accepted commissions within a reasonable timeframe
- Abuse of the dispute or rework process
- Any violation of the TavernPost Terms of Service
Suspensions may be temporary or permanent at TavernPost's discretion. Users may appeal a suspension by contacting support@tavernpost.org.
9. Ratings
After a commission is completed, the buyer may leave a rating from 1 to 5 stars. Ratings must be submitted within 5 business days of final delivery. If no rating is submitted within this window, the commission is considered completed without a rating.
Ratings left as part of a bad-faith dispute — for example, leaving a 1-star rating after a dispute was resolved in the creator's favor — may be excluded from the creator's average rating at TavernPost's discretion. TavernPost reserves the right to exclude any rating from a creator's average if it determines the rating was left in bad faith.
10. Platform Fee
TavernPost charges a 15% platform fee on the total commission price. This fee is deducted from the creator's payout and covers payment processing, platform maintenance, and dispute resolution services.
11. Agreement
By submitting a commission offer (buyer) or accepting a commission offer (creator), both parties agree to abide by this Commission Policy. Both parties must confirm their agreement by checking a confirmation checkbox before submitting or accepting an offer. Agreement events are logged in the commission chat thread for audit purposes.
